Former projects
Identidad Amazónica
Indigenous knowledge of the sustainable management of the fragile Amazon rainforest ecosystem is an invaluable asset. From 2000 to 2010, this project promoted the preservation of these traditional values and linguistic diversity.
In cooperation with indigenous communities, EDA-Yurimaguas conducted practical workshops in public secondary schools under the title Identidad Amazónica. In Yurimaguas, about 800 secondary-school students participated in these activities each year.
Additionally, in several villages of the Achuar and Cocama-Cocamilla peoples, traditional knowledge was passed on to the younger generation with the support of community elders.
Cultural Dialogue
Between 2004 and 2020, Liri Seopa Ruíz, in collaboration with the Stiftung Kinder- und Jugendmuseum, organized project days at Swiss primary schools focusing on the Peruvian Amazon and its indigenous peoples. The aim was to teach Swiss children about indigenous knowledge in a hands-on, age-appropriate way.
