El Rugir del Alma

Since 2024, and as part of Yurimaguas’s annual city festival, EDA-Yurimaguas has organised an exhibition of visual art by local artists under the “El Rugir del Alma” project. The display of artworks is accompanied by a vibrant programme of events, artistic lighting, live music, interactive activities, workshops, and more.

Using artistic expression, we aim to draw attention to the destruction of the Amazon and to show the world how local communities experience the ongoing loss of forest and the resulting climate change. With each hectare of forest that disappears, irreplaceable knowledge also vanishes. For this reason, “El Rugir del Alma” is especially committed to preserving and promoting traditional crafts, ensuring that this cultural heritage endures.
